On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Jason Cox of Patriot Domes talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about his company and what Patriot Domes are all about.

Patriot Domes are portable, dome-shaped shelter that are simple to construct and can be put up in just a few hours. The domes are designed to be wind-resistant, water-resistant and come fully insulated.

Cox said he got the idea from watching a show about doomsday preppers, and that the domes can be used in a variety of ways, such as hunting blinds and temporary housing. Cox also pointed out that, since these domes are so portable and secure, they are ideal in disaster situations where extra housing and facilities may be needed.
