On the Tuesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Jared Hall, candidate for Lubbock City Council District 2, joined Hasty in the KFYO studio to discuss issues facing the city. Among the topics were the coverage boundaries of district 2, taxes, crime, police staffing, as well as the controversial issue of whether or not tornado sirens are needed in the city.

Hasty brought up the current topic about the city of Lubbock's plan to move the Lubbock Police Department into what is now City Hall, and move City Hall into the newly purchased Citizen's Tower (formerly known as the Omni Building). Hasty asked Jared Hall if he believes that the plan will meet LPD's needs, and if he thinks the plan is a good idea. Hall responded by saying, "I have talked to some people, and, doubtful, very doubtful. We're looking at an older building. We're also looking that, it doesn't have the restroom capacity. And the next thing is, is City Hall is only open during regular, normal business hours. We're talking of converting that building into a 24/7 operation with people all day long. So that requires a lot more stress on the building's facilities."

Hall continued, saying, "There's a lot of structural changes that are going to have to happen to convert that into a police station, so, you know, the initial idea that, you know we can convert this real easy into a police station. I'm not sold on the idea that it's going to be as easy as they're trying to tell us."

Hall and Hasty then discussed remedies, and the possibility of police substations being added to relieve the pressure from downtown facilities.
