Japreece Dean Wins Fourth Big 12 Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week

For the fourth time this season, Lady Raider freshman point guard Japreece Dean has been named the Big 12 Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week. She shares the award this week with West Virginia's Tynice Martin.

Dean has been a definite bright spot in a down time for the program. She's also been in the conversation for Big 12 newcomer of the year and the freshman All-American team.

Dean is the first Lady Raider in Big 12 history to win this award four times in a single season.

The freshman averaged 11 points, 5.5 assists and 4 rebounds from her point guard position in Texas Tech’s loss to TCU and overtime win over Iowa State. She sunk 5/6 from the foul line and had foursteals.

Next up for the Lady Raiders is a Wednesday morning road tilt with Oklahoma in Norman. Tipoff is set for 10:30 a.m. as part of OU’s Education Day celebration.
