A traffic stop in the South Plains resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs.

At around 8 a.m. Saturday, a Texas DPS trooper stopped a 2013 Toyota Camry for speeding more than 100 miles per hour on U.S. 84 near Post in Garza County.

During the stop, the trooper found several vacuum-sealed packages of high-grade marijuana, a package of methamphetamine, and a pistol in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Jamie Morgan Davila of Lubbock, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Garza County Jail.

The drugs, valued at more than $54,000, were allegedly being transported from California to Aransas Pass, Texas.
