A Lubbock man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for child pornography.

James Galen Brown received the sentence Friday morning, following his October 2012 guilty plea to one count of transportation of child pornography.

Brown reportedly went onto internet chat rooms and found people to trade child pornography pictures with via text message on his cell phone.

The 40-year-old Brown has been ordered to serve a 10-year term of supervised release following his prison sentence as well.

The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Lubbock.
