A private plane carrying three people and tracked by U.S. fighter jets has reportedly crashed in Jamaica.

ABC News reports that the plane's pilot failed to respond to air traffic controllers, which resulted in two F-15 fighter jets being scrambled to track the plane. The F-15 pilots said that they saw the pilot slumped over in his seat, along with signs of cabin decompression and hypoxia.

The plane crashed near Port Antonio, said Major Basil Jarrett of the Jamaican Defense Force.

The plane took off from the Greater Rochester International Airport at 8:45 a.m. EDT Friday morning. Last contact with the pilot occurred at 10 a.m. A filed flight plan had the plane's destination as Naples, Florida.
