A combined band comprised of about 500 students from Coronado, Estacado, Lubbock and Monterey high schools will take part in the Tournament of Roses Parade.

It’s a prestigious event viewed by millions, not only in the U.S. but around the world.  Rick Jackson, the president of the Tournament of Roses Association, came to Lubbock to make the invitation to the All-Lubbock Band official.

“This is going to be the largest band in the parade this year,” Jackson said.  “It’s going to be not only the only band from Texas, but really the only band from this region.  I believe the closest one is from Arkansas.  So this band is going to represent not just their individual schools, not just the city of Lubbock, Texas, but the state of Texas and indeed the entire region."

This will be the first time an LISD band will perform in the parade.
