Here are just a few things in Chad’s Pile that you will hear on Lubbock’s First News this morning. Give Chad your feedback on the steaming topics.

1. Americans think the Supreme Court is too Liberal (link)

Even though the ideological makeup of the Supreme Court hasn't changed in the last few years, more Americans now believe the Court is too liberal.

Those replacements did not dramatically alter the ideological composition of the Supreme Court, with two left-leaning justices replacing two left-leaning justices, but Americans' perceptions of the court's ideology have changed in recent years. A plurality of Americans, 42%, believe the Supreme Court's ideology is "about right," but more believe it is "too liberal" than "too conservative." That has been the case in each of the last three years -- the first three years of the Obama administration. During the latter part of the Bush administration, 2006-2008, the public was more inclined to believe the court was too conservative.

I don't know if the Court is too liberal, but I do think that the court can be too activist. It will be interesting to see how people feel about the Supreme Court once ObamaCare is a case.

2. Can you argue with him? (link)

Are Americans better off now than they were four years ago? According to Obama, the answer is no.

George Stephanopoulos, ABC News: "And a lot of anger out there. There's so many people who simply don't think they're better off than they were four years ago. How do you convince them that they are?"

President Obama: "Well, I don't think they're better off than they were four years ago. They're not better off than they were before Lehman's collapse, before the financial crisis, before this extraordinary recession that we're going through. I think that what we've seen is that we've been able to make steady progress to stabilize the economy, but the unemployment rate is still way too high. And that's why it's so critical for us to make sure that we are taking every action we can take to put people back to work."

3. Oh Herman Cain (link)

More and more people are now saying that Herman Cain may have jumped the gun when condemning Rick Perry because of the Washington Post article about his ranch and the n-word. This from Hot Air:

This certainly seemed like a gift in the middle of a tough campaign, but as Jazz wrote yesterday, the Post’s story had a lot of holes in it — starting with the problem that they didn’t even find the rock in question, and that Perry’s family didn’t own or name the ranch, but in fact found the name offensive enough to cover with paint and flip over. Instead of waiting for more information, though, Cain accepted the premise of the Post’s article, which raised the ire of some conservatives, if my Twitter feed yesterday was any indication.

Thoughts? Did Cain jump the gun?
