I've lived in Lubbock most of my life and I really do feel like it's a 'what you make of it' city. That it's up to you to find your people, your culture, your fun.

Lubbock is actually quite rich -- from First Friday Art Trail to the Texas Tech Museum, from live concerts to great dance clubs, there's something new to discover all the time, if you look for it.

Thrillist recently came out with a list of the most underrated cities in each state. Lubbock lost out to Fort Worth. Fort Worth is a great city, with a fantastic zoo among many other amenities. And it is largely seen as just a huge neighborhood of Dallas. I get it.

But since we didn't even make the underrated list, doesn't that mean we are truly the underrated ones? I like to think so.
