Inspections at a Midland railroad crossing will take place on December 17th where a deadly collision occurred last month.

The signal systems at the railroad crossing will be tested and the locomotive involved will be inspected along with the truck which was carrying the flat trailer full of veterans and their wives.

Inspectors will try to find out why only a warning of 20 seconds was given instead of the standard 30. The Glasheen, Valles, and Inderman Law Firm of Lubbock reached an agreement with the Union Pacific Railroad to conduct the inspections.

On Thursday, Midland spokeswoman Sara Higgins says no charges will be filed against Dale Andrew Hayden. Four wounded veterans and 16 other people were injured in the November 15th collision.
