The immense growth in the Overton neighborhood of Lubbock continued this week with the opening of another hotel near Texas Tech University.

The Hyatt Place Lubbock officially opened for business on Wednesday with a ribbon cutting from the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. The hotel is located at Mac Davis Lane and Avenue X (2309 Mac Davis Lane) and it is one of the taller structures in Overton, since it is five stories tall.

“As home not only to Texas Tech and the hotel needs of fans, parents and other VIPs, Lubbock also continues to grow as a city and a key business and leisure destination,” said Hyatt Place Lubbock General Manager Marcie Truby. “Hyatt Place Lubbock will add a great new option for travelers visiting the heart of Lubbock’s university, business and leisure district.”
