The Lubbock City Council last week passed Councilman Jim Gerlt's tax increase amendment for the upcoming budget. The vote was 4-3 with Mayor Glen Robertson, Councilwoman Karen Gibson, and Councilman Jeff Griffith voting against the tax increase. The council is still working on storm water rates and power generation after 2017 along with many other issues.
