One person was injured Tuesday morning (June 12) in a high-speed chase that ended with an SUV crashing into a home.

The accident occurred Tuesday morning around 10:45 a.m. in the 2300 block of 32nd Street.

According to Lubbock Police, an unidentified woman allegedly bought a cell phone with counterfeit money. The seller of the phone, 31-year-old Matthew Lott (pictured above), figured out the money was fake and chased after the woman’s SUV in his own vehicle.

Lott’s vehicle was undamaged in the accident, and he was arrested for Reckless Driving. Meanwhile, the unidentified woman was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending against her.

Lott is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $750 bond.

No one in the home was injured in the accident.
