Heather Baker and Tiffany Lewis spoke with Tom and Laura on Lubbock's First News about the work of the group People Against Child Abuse (PACA).

The group was formed as a part of the Health Occupation Students of America's decision to focus on child abuse in a community awareness competition. Lewis said, "we are trying to raise awareness in the community. We are also raising money for the local child abuse agencies." Many of these agencies comprise the South Plains Coalition Against Child Abuse.

PACA is working toward becoming an official non-profit organization. They are also planning fundraisers to help financially aid children and family protective services in Lubbock that address child abuse. Fuddruckers will host a fundraiser for PACA Wednesday, December 4. 15% of the sales collected will be donated to the group. To contribute, place receipts in the basket next to the register to make sure your purchase gets counted toward the donations. There will also be a fundraiser in January with Tyler Technologies.
