Republican Rep.  Mac Thornberry, whose district includes counties just north and east of Lubbock, says he appreciates the potential power and influence of words.  But on his blog, Thornberry made it clear he thinks the president has done enough talking about jobs  already.

“I have to confess that I am somewhat amazed that President Obama announced with great fanfare that he will give a major speech in early September,” Thornberry wrote.  “Another speech about jobs is not what the country needs.”

Thornberry wrote that it’s possible Obama will learn from past mistakes and announce that he will agree to re-visit the health care plan and release a deficit reduction plan, but Thornberry does not expect that to happen.
