Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about current events in national and state politics.

When asked by Hasty about his thoughts on Texas Governor Greg Abbott's traveling to Cuba on a trade mission, Mackowiak replied,

If you think about it, it's the one market in the world that's been closed to American products for fifty or sixty years. And so, given it's proximity to the United States, especially to Florida, but it's also not terribly far from Texas, it does [have] potential, and so that's untapped potential, and so that's why he's going.

Mackowiak and Hasty also discussed current standings in the GOP nomination field, with less than ten weeks to go until the Iowa primary, and Donald Trump still leading in the polls. Mackowiak also talked about Chris Christie's important endorsement from New Hampshire's leading newspaper, the conservative Union Leader, and what that endorsement means for other Republican candidates.
