Yet another recall petition against District 2 Lubbock City Councilman Floyd Price has been filed.

Gordon Harris filed a third petition to recall Price on Thursday morning after two failed attempts this year.

Harris needs 509 valid signatures from voters in District 2, and 10 percent of the signers must sign an affidavit stating that they voted for the officeholder in the previous election.

City Secretary Becky Garza’s office has begun the verification process to determine the validity of the petition.

After his last petition was declared invalid due to having fewer than 400 signatures declared valid and less than 10 percent of the signees did not say they voted for Price in the 2008 election, Harris weighed in on his continued opposition against the Councilman.

“I mean, the community needs this,” said Harris. “Like I said before, and I will say it over again, he (Price) does nothing for our community. Somebody has to get it done and I am the chosen one and I am going to get it done.”
