On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Matt Mackowiak, GOP strategist and co-founder of MustReadTexas.com, talked with Chad and Rex about tonight's Republican primaries in Arizona and Michigan.

Mackowiak said that the Arizona was a winner-take-all primary, and that Mitt Romney will most likely win. The real focus of the night will be on the Michigan primary, where Romney and opponent Rick Santorum are more evenly matched.

"Tonight is about Romney passing a crucial test a lot more than it is about Santorum. But if Romney does win Arizona and Michigan tonight, his candidacy will get a boost and he will be answering some questions about whether he can become a nominee.

Mackowiak said that, if Santorum were to beat Romney in the Michigan primary, it would be a "category 5 hurricane" for the Republican party. He said that, although Santorum is incredibly outspent when compared to Romney, his performance thus far has been extraordinarily impressive. However, Mackowiak also said that Santorum makes a better underdog than he does a front runner.
