GOP Strategist Matt Mackowiak Says Hillary Clinton Is Creating Her Own Problems For Potential 2016 Presidential Run [AUDIO]

On the Monday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Matt Mackowiak, GOP strategist and co-founder of MustReadTexas.com, talked with Chad Hasty about the latest state and national news.

Hillary Clinton, who many believe to be the Democratic frontrunner for the 2016 presidential race, has been facing a lot of bad press in recent weeks. Mackowiak said that if Clinton did not decide to run for the presidency in 2016, it would be very troublesome for the Democrats as they would no longer have a clear contender for the position. He went on to say that between all the constant media coverage and her focus on her personal wealth, Clinton seems to be creating her own problems.

"I don't necessarily think this is about what Republican are doing. I think it's about what Hillary is doing. Really, she set up all these cell phone interviews with lots of rules, she'll only talk to this person on this day for this many minutes, and ultimately, she's the one that's creating all the problems for herself with the things she's saying. She's really showing that she's going to have a very difficult time talking about her own wealth. There was a really good piece in the Washington Post this morning about Democratic concerns with her ability to talk about her wealth and to appeal to the middle class. She's been able to do it in the past, but the Clintons have earned over one hundred million dollars in the last 8 years, and so their lives are changed considerably."

When asked if Clinton seemed to be a weaker candidate now than in 2008, Mackowiak replied that at that time 6 years ago, there were not any glaring problems with Clinton. He added that it's only now that people are starting to question her foreign policy decisions, most notably her actions concerning Benghazi, and are starting to see how bad her decisions really are.

Mackowiak also spoke about the recent change in GOP House leadership, commenting that the change would not make much of a difference and that the true power of the GOP still lies in the grassroots. He also shared his thoughts on the latest developments with the Wendy Davis campaign.
