On Wednesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Matt Mackowiak, GOP strategist and co-founder of MustReadTexas.com, talked with Chad Hasty and Rex Andrew about his impression of last night speeches at the Republican National Convention.

Mackowiak said that, out of all the speeches made last night, Ann Romney's speech was the most impressive of the night. He said that Romney's speech filled in the personal narrative gaps that Mitt Romney sorely needed, and that her speech has been the most important speech of the convention so far.

"I just felt that it was the kind of speech suburban moms, if they were watching last night, or if they were seeing the highlight or reading the covers this morning, that they would have found it a very compelling and convincing speech."

Mackowiak considered Ann Romney's speech even more impressive that New Jersey governor's Chris Christie's speech. Although he agreed Christie had a good speech, he also said that Christie's speech was not all that memorable, and that he really couldn't . Mackowiak said he believes Paul Ryan's speech tonight, along with both Ann and Mitt Romney's speeches will be the most important takeaways from the convention.
