On the Monday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist and co-founder of MustReadTexas.com Matt Mackowiak talked with Chad Hasty about the latest going on statewide and nationally.

The scandals surrounding the IRS still continue to make news weeks after the scandal first erupted. Mackowiak mentioned that it was revealed this weekend that it was not just conservative groups being targeted, but the IRS was targeting donors to those groups as well. He also added that the original claim of low-level IRS employees in Cincinnati being responsible has completely fallen apart, and that these employees were merely scapegoats.

"What happens when you go after organizations is that some people are scapegoated, and then those people often times don't feel like they're being treated fairly and so they go after the people at the top...the idea that the White House had at the very beginning of this scandal was that, "Oh, this isn't a political thing. This is a couple of bad actors form our IRS office out in Cincinnati." That's just been proven to be totally phony. And now we see that they're wasting money on conferences and doing silly dance videos..."

Mackowiak predicted that these scandals were far from over, and that he expects even more revelations to come out before the end of the year.

Mackowiak also commented on the recent passing on New Jersey democratic senator Frank Lautenburg. It now falls to Governor Chris Christie to select a replacement for the rest of the term. Mackowiak said that, regardless of whether Christie chooses a Democrat or Republican to fill the now vacant seat, the candidate will no doubt be in a difficult spot.
