Here are just a few things in Chad’s Pile that you will hear on Lubbock’s First News this morning. Give Chad your feedback on the steaming topics.

1. Google Plus is pretty cool

Thanks to Cole Shooter, I was able to enter the world of Google+ on Sunday and have been playing around with it since. So far, it's pretty good. Will it kill off Facebook? Probably not, but I can see it as a major competitor to Facebook. Later this week I will write a more detailed review of the new social network. If you are on Google+, or as I call it, G+ add me in your circle.

2. Flag height

This weekend the fiancee and I were driving down Quaker near the loop when we saw something that we both thought was odd. A bank was flying their business flag higher than the Texas flag. Anyone else out there think that's wrong? I have nothing against this bank, and I'm sure they are fine people, but please let's show a little more respect here.

3. Debt Summit (link)

FOX is reporting that tensions are high between the GOP and the White House (what's new?) when it comes to a deficit-reduction deal. According to FOX News:

The speaker, claiming the White House was pushing too hard for tax hikes while not pushing hard enough for entitlement reform, said Saturday evening that lawmakers should aim for a smaller deficit-reduction deal. Instead of the $4 trillion package officials were talking about just days ago, Boehner suggested negotiators aim for a deal that would be worth about half that over the next decade.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, speaking on "Fox News Sunday," confirmed that a $4 trillion package is now off the table.

"Everything they've told me and the speaker is that to get a big package would require big tax increases in the middle of the economic situation," McConnell told "Fox News Sunday."

In my personal opinion, don't look for anything new to happen when it comes to the debt ceiling. At least, not yet.
