An area organization will host a founding father lookalike in Lubbock next week.

The South Plains Chapter of the Eagle Forum is sponsoring Reverend Mark Collins as “George Washington” in Lubbock on Tuesday, March 27th.

Rev. Collins has portrayed Washington in the History Channel’s mini-series “The Revolution”, and the movies National Treasure II and Behold a Pale Horse.

During his time in Lubbock, Rev. Collins will visit area schools, and will be the speaker at the Eagle Forum’s “Cherry Pie Reception”, which will be held prior to their Tuesday meeting.

The Cherry Pie Reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27th in the Education Building of the Science Spectrum, located at 2579 South Loop 289. Their 7 p.m. meeting will feature Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney Matt Powell as speaker.

Collins will also appear at Mr. Gatti’s Pizza at 50th Street and Wayne Avenue on Monday, March 26th at 7 p.m. The presentations are free of charge and open to the public.
