Retail gas prices in Lubbock and Texas have increased for the third straight week.

According to the KFYO News gas price survey, the average price for regular unleaded gas in Lubbock is $3.27 per gallon up fifteen cents from last week.

This time last year retail gasoline in Lubbock was $3.20 per gallon and two years ago were at $2.97.

The average price for fuel increased in Texas also. According to AAA Texas the price increased fourteen cents to $3.38 per gallon.

The national average sits higher than it does in the Hub City and Texas at $3.55 per gallon. The cause of the increased prices nationwide and in Texas are due to refineries moving from the winter blend of fuel to the summer blend.
