Gas Prices Rise in Lubbock, but Still Fall in Texas

According to the KFYO News Gas Price survey, the average price for regular, self-serve unleaded in Lubbock is $3.06 per gallon, up 7 cents from last week. The average price of fuel this time last year was $3.14 per gallon. Two years ago the price was at $2.64.

According to AAA Texas, the average price of gas in Texas is $3.18 per gallon, down 5 cents from last week.The most expensive gas in Texas according to AAA is in El Paso at $3.33 per gallon while the cheapest is in Beaumont at $3.06. Lubbock is not part of the weekly AAA survey.

Nationally, the average price for gas is $3.44 per gallon, down 2 cents from a week ago. AAA in their report this week said lower crude oil prices and reduced demand for fuel and economic concerns have contributed to falling prices.
