Gas prices are inching back to the three dollar mark in the Hub City this week.

According to the weekly KFYO News Gas Price Survey, the average price of regular self-serve fuel in Lubbock is $3.14. That price is a drop of eight cents from last week.

Prices in the Lone Star State continue to drop as well. AAA Texas reports the average fuel price in Texas is $3.39 per gallon, a drop of six cents from last week.

AAA reports that Houston drivers are paying the most at the pump with prices at $3.43 per gallon while drivers east of the Bayou City in Beaumont are paying just $3.26. Lubbock is not part of the AAA survey in Texas.

AAA reports that prices are falling due to increased production at refineries since regularly scheduled maintenance at the refineries is complete along with the market price of oil falling.
