Gas Prices Drop in Lubbock For 2nd Straight Week

Gas Prices in Lubbock drop for the second consecutive week.

According to the KFYO News gas price survey, the average price for regular unleaded gas in Lubbock is $2.87 per gallon, down seven cents from last week.

The average price for a gallon of diesel fuel in Lubbock sits at $3.73, down a penny from last week’s survey.

At the time of our survey the cheapest price for regular unleaded gas in Lubbock is found at the Stripes Convenience Store on 19th and Milwaukee at $2.77.

The cheapest price for a gallon of diesel fuel is found at Bolton's on 19th and Iola with a price of $3.64. This time last year, the price of unleaded gas was higher at $3.08 and even from two years ago at $2.87.

Lubbock continues to have lower fuel price averages than the state of Texas. According to AAA Texas, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.17 per gallon, down a penny from last week.

For the second consecutive week, the city with the highest fuel prices in Texas is Dallas at $3.20 per gallon while El Paso is the cheapest city at $2.96. Lubbock is not part of the weekly AAA Texas survey.

Nationally, the average price for fuel is $3.30 per gallon, down a penny from last week’s AAA survey.
