How does the price of gas in Lubbock this week compare with the price a year ago?

One year ago, the average price for regular self-serve gas in Lubbock was $2.58 a gallon.  According to a KFYO survey, the average price for regular self-serve gas in Lubbock this week is $3.31 a gallon.  That’s an increase of 73 cents in the last year.

Nationally, the average price this week is $3.54 a gallon.  That’s an increase of 83 cents from a year ago.

In case you were wondering, the week Barack Obama became president, the average price of gas in Lubbock was $1.74 a gallon.  This week’s average of $3.31 a gallon is $1.53 higher.
