On Thursday’s edition of Lubbock’s First News, Steven Orr from the “West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard” show talked with Chad Hasty and Rex Andrew about his picks for the big games in high school football this week.

This week, the big game will be Frenship vs. Odessa Permian. Permian is trying to recover after a surprising and tough loss to El Paso last week, and according to Orr, that loss will set up a very interesting game against Frenship. Another big game to look forward to is the Lubbock High vs. Coronado games.  Orr admitted that it's unusual to see all the Lubbock high school teams playing each other so early, and with both teams suffering losses last week, "someone's gotta win."

In 6-man football, the games to look out for will be Ropes vs. Spur, and Paducah vs. Meadow. Other big 6-man games include Nazareth vs. Petersburg and Valley vs. Happy.

If you can't make it out to the Coronado game on Friday night, you can listen to it live starting at 7:15 PM on SportsRadio 134o the FAN. And be sure and tune in to the FAN every Friday night at 10 PM for the West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard show.
