A Frenship ISD student was approached by a stranger Tuesday afternoon, prompting district officials to keep parents on alert.

The incident was reported to FISD authorities Wednesday morning, prompting the school district to send out a message keeping parents updated. The message also reminds parents on ways to ensure their students make it home safely.

The message, sent by phone to FISD parents, is included below.

On Tuesday afternoon, October 18, an unidentified person approached a student while the student was walking home after school.

The student did arrive home safely and unharmed.  The incident was reported to Frenship ISD authorities Wednesday morning and is currently being investigated.  We are working with local law enforcement to increase our presence in the area.

Please remind your children to take special notice of their surroundings and to take proper safety measures while traveling home.  Keep a safe distance from the street and walk in pairs when possible.

If you or your children identify any circumstance as potentially harmful, please report any concerns to the campus administration or to the Frenship ISD Police.

No further information has been made available in the case. This attempt comes after two possible attempts were made to abduct Lubbock ISD students this month.
