An area school district has received its fourth consecutive award for financial transparency.

The Texas Comptroller’s Office has announced that Frenship ISD has received yet another Leadership Circle Gold Award for financial transparency in 2013.

Frenship has received a Gold Award every year since the recognition was created in 2010.

The district is one of 86 school districts to receive the award, out of 1,032 across the state.

The Leadership Circle award is designed to recognize local governments across Texas that are striving to meet a high standard for online financial transparency by opening their books to the public; by providing clear, consistent pictures of spending, and by sharing information in a user-friendly format that helps taxpayers understand how their tax dollars are spent, according to the Comptroller’s website.

Frenship ISD Chief Financial Officer Greg Cartwright and the entire FISD Business Department will be recognized for their achievements during the FISD Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, March 18th.
