An area school foundation has received a hefty donation.

The Frenship Foundation for Leadership has been given a $100,000 donation to help expand the organization.

The donation comes from George and Linda McMahan, owners of McMahan Development, as well as Bacon Crest and Primrose Point land developments. George McMahan served on the Foundation’s board since its inception in 2003 until 2009.

The donation is aimed at expanding the organization’s support roles for both students and faculty in Frenship Independent School District. The group is also planning to add a teacher grant initiative for instructors within the district to help support new innovations in curriculum development.

The McMahans will be recognized for the donation at Monday evening’s Frenship ISD School Board meeting.

The Frenship Foundation for Leadership has provided more than $290,000 in scholarships to 89 Frenship High School graduates.
