Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Frank Gutierrez, who is in a runoff election for the Lubbock City Council District 1 seat, joined the show to talk about the election and issues in the race.

Gutierrez and Hasty discussed several different topics including Gutierrez's history and experience, voter fatigue, affordable housing, and the city's budget and debt.

During the interview Gutierrez said, "I'm on a first-name basis with most of the [city] council, and I look forward to working with the new mayor, as well as going through the process of hiring a new city manager. That's going to be a very important part of being on the council."

Early voting is over, and Gutierrez encouraged citizens to get out and vote on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
