Several Lubbock ISD campuses have made a list of higher performing schools. Roy Roberts, Whiteside and Roscoe Wilson Elementaries and Hutchinson Middle School were named the 2011 National Center for Educational Achievement list of Higher Performing Schools. Schools qualify for the list by number of students scoring Commended on the TAKS test, or above predicted growth. Schools were compared to other schools with similar demographics.

LISD Chief Academic Officer Kelly Trlica said, “This is a great honor for these schools because they are being compared to schools statewide with similar demographics.  It demonstrates a high level of rigorous instruction in preparing all students for college.”

The NCEA is a department of ACT, Inc, a non-profit geared towards improving education to aid in successful careers.
