Four Car Crash on Loop Delays Traffic; One Vehicle Catches Fire

A four car pileup resulted in several injuries Thursday on the Loop. A crash in the west-bound lane of the south loop caused a chain reaction which left a fire marshals vehicle in flames.
The marshal had stopped to help direct traffic around the initial accident when a fourth car crashed into his vehicle, catching it on fire. Officials believe the sound of gunfire reported by witnesses was caused by ammunition in the marshal’s trunk.
Three were injured, but not fatally.
