Former State Rep. Staffer Convicted of Negligent Homicide
A former Texas house staffer has been convicted of a fatal hit-and-run.
Gabrielle Nestande, 25 of Austin, was convicted by jury Thursday of criminally negligent homicide.
In May 2011 Nestande struck 30-year-old Courtney Griffin, whom she left to die in a nearby driveway.
When Griffin’s body was discovered police located Nestande’s car nearby with a broken windshield.
Nestande faces a sentence that can range from probation to 10 years in a state prison.
At the time of the accident she was working for state representative Wayne Christian, who, in 2012, lost his seat in a re-election defeat.
