Apple says the company's co-founder Steve Jobs has died at the age of 56.

In a brief statement the company said Jobs died today, October 5, 2011. He had been battling pancreatic cancer and rumors of his health had an impact on Apple's stock prices and for the past few years.

Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple this past August and in his statement he told the board in his statement, "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."

Jobs delivered the 2005 commencement at Stanford and that video tonight is receiving many hits on YouTube.  You can watch the video here on KFYO.com
