The Flying J Wranglers joined Lubbock’s First News Wednesday, Sept. 23 to sing and talk about the upcoming Cowboy Symposium in Lincoln County.

The group consists of Cindy Hobbs, husband James Hobbs, Corina Ripple and Tim Macaslin.

The group will be performing at the 26th Annual Cowboy Symposium in Lincoln County, New Mexico the second weekend in October.

The symposium was originally started to preserve the western history, the heritage of the music and the life of the cowboy.

Ray Reed started the symposium in 1990.

The symposium is a western heritage feast. It’s music, exhibits, horse demonstrations and the chuck wagon cook-off.

The 26th Annual Cowboy Symposium in Lincoln County will be at the Ruidoso Downs Race Track beginning Thursday, October 8 and running through Sunday, October 11 at 2 p.m. with Sunday shows free. It’s $25 admission all day, and kids 12 and under are free. \
