On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Corey Johnston for the Floydada Chamber of Commerce talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about the upcoming "Punkin Day" celebration.

The 25th Annual "Punkin Day" will be held in Floydada, the "pumpkin capital of the world," this Saturday, October 13th. The event boasts a number of races and competitions, such as a 5K run and a motorcycle run. There will also be a large number of arts and crafts and food vendors, activities for the kids, and a costume contest with a cash prize. Johnston says that even though the drought has affected the pumpkin crop, this year still promises to be one of the biggest "Punkin Day" celebrations yet.
