On the Friday edition of Lubbock's First News, Cathy Landtroop and Ron Betenbough, along with the Flamingo Divas lemonade stand young entrepreneurs discussed upcoming Lemonade Day, where to find lemonade, and how to get involved.

This year, Lemonade Day will take place on Saturday, May 3, at different locations across Lubbock. Betenbough, well known for his home building business, said he is a strong supporter of Lemonade Day activities. He said, "I think business is kind of a bad word in the national rhetoric and I think these kids can make a change to that." In the months leading up to Lemonade Day, the child entrepreneurs get the chance to procure a loan from a bank with small interest and to learn about budgeting, construction, location, presentation, product, and price. Betenbough counsels the kids to spend some of their profit, save some, and share some with a charity.

The Flamingo Divas will have their yellow and pink lemonade stand, covered in flamingos, at the park on 91st and Boston Ave. at Earl Crow Park, starting at 10:00 a.m. Lemonade can be purchased for $2 a glass to help the team reach their goal of $3,500. This and many other lemonade stands can be found all around Lubbock on Saturday. Check out the interview below for more details.
