Five Dead in Panhandle Crash from “Texas” Musical, Alcohol Possibly A Factor
Alcohol may have been a factor in a deadly accident in the Texas Panhandle late Monday which killed five members of popular summer musical.
Amarillo.com is reporting the death of four dancers and a box office worker from the musical "Texas" according to the Department of Public Safety. The sixth cast member in the car was taken to the hospital and in surgery today.
The cast members left an end of year cast party and were traveling down U.S. Highway 287 near Dumas when the car carrying the cast members ran into a tractor-trailer. The driver of the trailer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Tuesday night performance of the show has been cancelled and the rest of the shows this week are yet to be determined.
