Three more teachers have been honored as part of a local program.

United Supermarkets and Mrs. Baird’s Bread announced the Teachers on the Rise recipients for February.

The three winners are Samantha Pierce of Laura Bush Middle School, Sarah Harris of Estacado High School, and Samantha Johnson of Stephen F. Austin Elementary School in Slaton.

Each winner receives a $100 United Supermarkets gift card and a $100 VISA gift card. The student that nominates a winning teacher also receives a $50 gift card.

“We are thrilled to recognize these three excellent teachers for their superb work in our community,” said Shelby Crews, community relations manager for United. “The Teachers on the Rise program helps remind all educators of the important influence they have on our youth every day.”

To nominate a teacher, students can log onto www.MrsBTeacher.com to fill out an entry on why their teacher deserves the special recognition.

Each month of this school year, one teacher each from elementary, middle, and high school levels will be recognized as a Teachers on the Rise recipient.

Teachers on the Rise is also sponsored by News Talk 790 KFYO, Texas Classroom Teachers Association, 102.5 KISS-FM, and KAMC-TV.
