Area farmers have until the end of the week to submit their annual crop certification information.

The deadline for the annual crop certification for spring-seeded crops is Friday, July 15th. Producers that file accurate and timely reports for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage, can prevent the potential loss of FSA program benefits.

Also, considering the current drought situation in Texas, producers are reminded to report crop losses insured through Federal Crop Insurance and the Uninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program. Reports should be filed within 15 days after the disaster or after the loss is apparent.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the Lubbock County Farm Service Agency office at 806-785-5644, extension 2.
