A Lubbock ISD teacher has been selected for Air Force leadership training.

Estacado High School physics teacher Greg Burnham has been selected as one of 24 teachers across the nation to attend the United States Air Force Leadership Program at Vandenberg Air Force Base near Lompoc, California.

On July 29th and 30th, Burnham and the other selected teachers will be immersed in Air Force culture and taught the USAF’s pillars of leadership.

Applicants were selected based on their ability to excite students about science and technology, and their use of innovative techniques to help students learn and stay motivated.

Vandenberg AFB is a Department of Defense space and missile testing base with the mission of placing satellites into polar orbit from the West Coast.

“Most exciting to me is the chance to go to Vandenberg AFB where the Air Force launches most of its satellites on Delta and Pegasus rockets,” said Burnham.
