Electrocution Fatality in Central Lubbock

A tree trimmer working in a bucket truck accidentally touched a power line Wednesday afternoon, December 2. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the mouth of the alley on the east side of Indiana at 59^th Street. Traffic was reduced to one northbound lane along Indiana for around two hours as first responders investigated and cleared the scene.

The as-yet-unidentified man was not a contractor of the City of Lubbock or Lubbock Power and Light.

LP&L Spokesman Matt Rose told KAMC News no power outages were caused by the accident.
