A tree trimmer working in a bucket truck accidentally touched a power line Wednesday afternoon, December 2. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the mouth of the alley on the east side of Indiana at 59th Street. Traffic was reduced to one northbound lane along Indiana for around two hours as first responders investigated and cleared the scene.

The as-yet-unidentified man was not a contractor of the City of Lubbock or Lubbock Power and Light.

LP&L Spokesman Matt Rose told KAMC News no power outages were caused by the accident.
