Elderly Texas Couple Found Dead Inside Their Home

HOUSTON (AP) — Harris County sheriff's officials say an 83-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife have been found slain in their suburban home northeast of Houston.

Don and Reba Rentz were last seen alive about 10 days ago.

The couple's children, who live out of town, contacted a neighbor to check on them.

When no one answered the door and the neighbor found it unlocked, police were summoned and found their bodies Saturday evening.

Deputies have described their fatal injuries as traumatic. It's not immediately certain if anything was taken from their home.
