A magnitude 8.9 earthquake  rocked Japan today, causing a 23-foot tsunami which carved a destructive path that has killed nearly 300 people and washed away cars and bridges, and knocked out nuclear power plants.

The images from Japan are heart breaking, to say the least.

Living in Lubbock, we will be isolated from the personal loss of the earthquake and tsunami. However, we can donate money to those organizations which can meet tangible needs in the coming days and weeks. I would suggest giving to groups such as World Vision International and the Red Cross.

Say a prayer for Japan and get to it.
