33-year-old Leopoldo Herrera-Gandara, aka "Polo," of Arch, New Mexico has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

Herrera-Gandara pleaded guilty in August to one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. He and along with 6 defendants of a drug trafficking organization, mostly from the Lubbock area, were arrested in May in a joint operation.

Of the 7 defendants who were indicted, 5 have been convicted and sentenced. The charges were dismissed against one of the defendants following a plea of guilty to related state charges and the remaining defendant, Arcadio Ornelas, Jr. of Morton is scheduled to begin trial on December 4th.
