Drug Bust in Texas Panhandle Results in Seizure of 8+ Pounds of Cocaine
Yet another drug bust has been made along Interstate 40 in the Texas Panhandle.
A Texas DPS trooper stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox heading eastbound on I-40 near Conway in Carson County.
The stop was made just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 11th.
During a search of the vehicle, the trooper discovered eight bundles of cocaine hidden in a compartment of the vehicle.
The search yielded more than eight pounds of cocaine valued at more than $253,000.
The driver of the vehicle, 36-year-old Joel Gonzalez-Camaro, of Culican, Mexico, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The drugs were reportedly being transported from Phoenix, Arizona to Columbus, Ohio.
