Construction work on a drainage system will begin starting on Monday.

Beginning on October 15, North Knoxville Avenue between Grinnell Street and Erskine Street will be closed for construction activities associated with the Northwest Lubbock Drainage Improvements Project and expected to last approximately 120 days.

The intersections at Grinnell Street and N. Knoxville Avenue as well as Erskine Street and N. Knoxville Avenue will remain open. Current tunneling operations will continue on Grinnell Street west of Indiana Avenue and open trenching operations will continue along Fordham Street between US Highway 84 and Detroit Avenue.

This portion of Fordham Street will be closed to through-traffic during the construction activity associated with the installation of a storm sewer box pipe.

Traffic detours will be set up at locations where construction activity will occur, and citizens are encouraged to use caution while traveling in this area.
